How To Work Effectively
With Our Search Firm
Communication
The Interview
Offer Time
Communication
• Make a good
impression! Have a resume ready or be willing
to spend time with the recruiter
to make sure they
understand the scope of your experience
and background.
Remember, the recruiter will be representing
you to a
potential employer.
• We won’t
present your resume to a company without your
prior knowledge
• No news is
no news – Don’t feel it’s necessary to call the
recruiter on a daily or weekly basis!
You can be assured
that the recruiter will call you
if an appropriate
opportunity arises. However, if you
feel neglected, check in
periodically with an email or a voice
mail. back

The Interview
• It’s
our job to prepare you for the interview process, making
sure you understand the culture of
the company
(personalities, dress code, style
of communication, etc) as
well as the skill set necessary for
the job.
• Ongoing communication
with the recruiter is essential
throughout the interview process.
Make sure they have a conversation
with you 1 to 2 days prior to the interview.
After you’ve researched the
company, you’ll be
able to ask any last minute questions
and get directions,
if needed.
• Make a follow
up call to the recruiter within 1 hour after the
end of the interview. If the interview
went well and you have
an interest in the position, it gives
the recruiter the opportunity
to reinforce that interest to the
company. If anything you said
in the interview was misunderstood
or inappropriate, it may
enable the recruiter to overcome
those obstacles. back

Offer Time
• When possible,
allow the recruiter to negotiate for you.
That will minimize any animosity
that could occur in the
negotiation process between you and
your future employer.
• Should an
offer be extended directly to you, consult with your
recruiter prior to responding to
the company to ensure that
nothing is missed in the offer (benefits,
bonus, vacation, etc).
• Once a start
date is established, make sure you inform the
recruiter.
• Your relationship
is not over once you start your new job!
Should there be any concerns, the
recruiter may be able to
step in and resolve them, again minimizing
animosity
between you and your new employer.
